Oproep: Meedenken met de DIOK Community Commissie | Rugbyclub DIOK is trots op haar sterke community, met duidelijke normen, waarden en een aanpak waarin samenwerken centraal staat. Maar hoe houden we dit vast, versterken we het en geven we richting aan onze groei? Dat is de uitdaging waarmee de nieuwe Community Commissie (CC) aan de slag wil.
Waarom een Community Commissie?
Bij DIOK draait het om meer dan rugby alleen. Onze cultuur, samenwerking en uitstraling maken ons uniek. De CC wil onderzoeken hoe we als leden en ouders omgaan met elkaar, hoe we onze identiteit bewaren en onze organisatie versterken. Het doel is om processen en richtlijnen te ontwikkelen die de club helpen groeien en onze cultuur behouden.
De CC wordt een denktank die strategieën uitwerkt en kaders creëert. Het is geen uitvoerende commissie, maar werkt samen met mensen binnen de club om plannen in de praktijk te brengen. Dit helpt ons met meer mensen betere resultaten te behalen.
Wie zoeken we?
Voor deze commissie zoeken we experts die hun ervaring willen inzetten voor DIOK. Denk aan:
Procesmanagers of bedrijfskundigen: voor het ontwikkelen en begeleiden van processen. Antropologen of sociologen: om inzicht te geven in hoe onze relaties en rituelen de club versterken.
Je hoeft geen ervaring met rugby of de DIOK-cultuur te hebben. Wat telt, is jouw expertise en de wil om die in te zetten binnen een vrijwilligersorganisatie.
Wie zijn we al?
De eerste leden van de commissie zijn: Marcel Colijn: HR-expert en interim-manager/bestuurder; Welmoet Lugt: Specialist in communicatie en marketing en Hajo Feitsma: Expert in verenigings- en vrijwilligersmanagement.
Allemaal hebben zij bestuurlijke ervaring. Deze kennis is een plus, maar niet verplicht voor nieuwe leden.

Wil je bijdragen aan de toekomst van DIOK? Of ken je een expert die kan helpen? We horen graag van je! Aanmelden kan tot 5 januari 2025. Daarna gaan we met de geïnteresseerden aan de slag en streven we naar de eerste resultaten in het seizoen 2025-2026.

RC DIOK ontvangt keurmerk Veilig Sporten | Tijdens de bijeenkomst deze week van Sportpunt71 op de Drijvende IJsbaan op de Nieuwe Rijn heeft een bestuursvertegenwoordiging van DIOK uit handen van de sportwethouder Fleur Spijker, het keurmerk “Veilig Sporten in Leiden” uitgereikt gekregen. Het keurmerk houdt in dat de sportvereniging voldoet aan de 4 ‘V s’: VOG (Verklaring omtrent het gedrag voor bestuurders en trainers), Vertrouwenscontactpersonen, Vakkundige trainers en coaches en een Vereniging Gedragscode
Het keurmerk is tot heden aan negen sportverenigingen in Leiden toegekend, waaronder dus ook RC DIOK Leiden.
Een handige en lichtgevende ‘4xV’ sleutelhanger is voor elke trainer en teammanager beschikbaar.

Steun DIOK door deelname aan de Vriendenloterij | RC DIOK heeft zich aangemeld als vereniging bij de Vriendenloterij. Wanneer een clublid deelneemt aan de Vriendenloterij kun je RC DIOK selecteren als ondersteunende vereniging. Wanneer je dit doet zal er 40% van het maandelijkse bedrag van het lidmaatschap overgemaakt worden aan onze club. Zo maak je zelf kans op prijzen en steun je onze vereniging. Een lidmaatschap bij de Vriendenloterij kost € 15,— per maand.

Presentatie Fit Focus studenten Haagse Hogeschool | Afgelopen zaterdag heeft het studententeam van de Haagse Hogeschool de eindpresentatie gegeven aan de Colts en ouders. We hebben hier eerder in Breakd🏉wn over geschreven. De presentatie ging over het onderzoek van het programma Fit Focus en de aanbevelingen die daaruit zijn voortgekomen. Het team bestaande uit: Kyra Engelbracht, Jessica Kaltner, Hannah Jansen, Mette Mastenbroek en Jarl Zandstra, hebben een speciaal Kennisboek RC DIOK samengesteld met veel informatie over voeding in relatie tot (rugby-) sportprestaties. Junioren RC DIOK tegen het Harde Leerschool team | Onlangs hebben de Junioren van RC DIOK een bijzondere wedstrijd gespeeld tegen het Harde Leerschool-team. Dit team maakt deel uit van een maatschappelijk traject dat jongeren motiveert en activeert door middel van rugby, wat de wedstrijd een extra betekenisvolle lading gaf. Mooi Junioren dat jullie dit maatschappelijk doel letterlijk met lijf en goed hebben ondersteund. Een speciaal detail was de aanwezigheid van Vinnie Koemans, de kleinzoon van DIOK-legende Kees Koemans, die deel uitmaakte van het team. Duidelijk een telg uit de Koemans familie met slechts 16 jaar, 1.90m en 140+ kg, maar toch ook nog snel, waardoor hij een van de twee tries drukte. Helaas liet het Sportbedrijf wel de bal wat vallen: de verlichting op het grasveld zou aan gaan, maar dat bleek niet haalbaar. Hierdoor moest worden uitgeweken naar het kunstgrasveld. Dit betekende ook dat de Benjamins en Mini's moesten wachten. Veel dank nogmaals aan onze Benjamins en Mini’s voor hun geduld en begrip! Ondanks deze hobbels was het een prachtige ervaring voor alle spelers en supporters en een mooie gelegenheid om rugby als verbindende kracht in de samenleving te vieren. | |

Call for input: Community Committee | Rugby club DIOK is proud of its strong community, with clear norms, values, and an approach centered on collaboration. But how do we maintain this, strengthen it, and guide our growth? That is the challenge the new Community Committee (CC) wants to tackle.
Why a Community Committee?
At DIOK, it's about more than just rugby. Our culture, collaboration, and image make us unique. The CC wants to investigate how we, as members and parents, interact with each other, how we preserve our identity, and strengthen our organization. The goal is to develop processes and guidelines that help the club grow and maintain our culture.
The CC will be a think tank that develops strategies and frameworks. It is not an executive committee but works with people within the club to put plans into practice. This helps us achieve better results with more people.
Who are we looking for?
For this committee, we are looking for experts who want to use their experience for DIOK. Think of:
- Process managers or business administrators: for developing and guiding processes.
- Anthropologists or sociologists: to provide insight into how our relationships and rituals strengthen the club.
You don't need to have experience with rugby or the DIOK culture. What counts is your expertise and willingness to use it within a volunteer organization.
Who are we already?
The first members of the committee are:

- Welmoet Lugt: Specialist in communication and marketing
- Hajo Feitsma: Expert in association and volunteer management
All have managerial experience. This knowledge is a plus but not mandatory for new members.

RC DIOK receives Safe Sports certification | During this week's meeting of Sportpunt71 at the Floating Ice Rink on the Nieuwe Rijn, a board representative of DIOK received the "Safe Sports in Leiden" certification from sports alderman Fleur Spijker. The certification means that the sports association meets the 4 'V's: VOG (Certificate of Good Conduct for board members and trainers), Confidential Contact Persons, Skilled trainers and coaches, and an Association Code of Conduct.
To date, the certification has been awarded to nine sports associations in Leiden, including RC DIOK Leiden.
A handy and illuminating '4xV' keychain is available for every trainer and team manager. | | |

Support DIOK by participating in the Vriendenloterij | RC DIOK has registered as an association with the Vriendenloterij. When a club member participates in the Vriendenloterij you can select RC DIOK as the supporting association. When you do this, 40% of the monthly membership fee will be transferred to our club. This way, you have a chance to win prizes and support our association. A membership in the Vriendenloterij costs €15 per month.

Presentation by Fit Focus students from The Hague University of Applied Sciences | Last Saturday, the student team from The Hague University of Applied Sciences gave the final presentation to the Colts and parents. We have previously written about this in Breakd🏉wn.
The presentation was about the research of the Fit Focus program and the recommendations that resulted from it.
The team, consisting of Kyra Engelbracht, Jessica Kaltner, Hannah Jansen, Mette Mastenbroek, and Jarl Zandstra, compiled a special Knowledge Book RC DIOK with a lot of information about nutrition in relation to (rugby) sports performance.
Special thanks also to the team manager of the Colts, Jeroen de Leeuw, for the flawless organization and guidance from DIOK and, of course, the participating players in the research.

Juniors RC DIOK against Harde Leerschool Team | Recently, the Juniors of RC DIOK played a special match against the Hard School team. This team is part of a social project that motivates and activates young people through rugby, giving the match an extra meaningful dimension. Well done Juniors for literally supporting this social goal with body and soul.
A special detail was the presence of Vinnie Koemans, the grandson of DIOK legend Kees Koemans, who was part of the team. Clearly a descendant of the Koemans family at just 16 years old, 1.90m and 140+ kg, but still fast, scoring one of the two tries.
Unfortunately, the Sports Company did drop the ball a bit: the lighting on the grass field was supposed to be turned on, but that was not feasible. As a result, the match had to be moved to the artificial turf field. This also meant that the Benjamins and Minis had to wait. Many thanks again to our Benjamins and Minis for their patience and understanding!
Despite these hurdles, it was a wonderful experience for all players and supporters and a great opportunity to celebrate rugby as a unifying force in society. | | |
