The Ones That Got Away
The Dukes will count themselves extremely lucky to have left Leiden with the win today. DIOK lost 10-14 in a game that they should have easily won. The visitors scored a try from their one and only real chance which was presented to them by some missed tackles and also managed to put over two penalties from right in front of the posts. Meanwhile DIOK scored two tries but failed to finish 3 golden try-scoring opportunities of their own. The place kickers from both teams had an off day, maybe due to the unpredictable wind blowing sideways across the pitch.
DIOK proved that they have nothing to fear from the team that is tonight top of the league, their toughest opponent seems to be themselves.

Reports:
DIOK 2 followed that on Sunday with a slow start away to the Bassets, giving the home team the chances they needed to score 4 times and open up a 22 point lead. Late in the first half DIOK scored to make it 22-5. The Bassets remained pointless for the second half and DIOK managed to turn the screws and score two tries after a red card (2x yellow) for the Bassets flanker. Unfortunately there was no injury time added at the end of normal time and DIOK ended as the stronger team but 7 points behind, 22-15.
